See the brave clashing of bulls that weight over a ton!
Yamakoshi is the only place on Honshu where you can see this traditional event.
Unlike Western bullfighting, no bulls are killed in Japanese bullfighting. Instead of facing humans, the bulls fight each other until one gets too tired to continue.
Period March 10th to November 3rd, 2012
Time Doors open at 10 a.m., matches begin at 1:00 p.m.

Venue Yamakoshi Togyujo (Yamakoshi Bullfighting Arena), Nagaoka City
Directions 30 minutes by car from JR Nagaoka Station (Shinetsu Line)
30 minutes by car from the Ojiya IC on the Kanetsu Expressway
Cost 2,000 JPY per person
(Children younger than elementary school age are free if accompanying a parent or guardian.)
*Please bring a mat or tarp to sit on instead of a seat.
