Nagaoka Festival
Nagaoka Festival is held from August 1 to August 3. See portable shrine float parades and folk dance processions, plus the main attraction of the large-scale fireworks display that takes place over the Shinano River. 650 meter giant sanshakudama fireworks, waterfall and volcano fireworks, and 20,000 smaller shakudama fireworks light up the night sky.

Tenryo Festival
The main event of the annual early October Tenryo Festival is a reenactment of a procession of representatives of the Shogun on their way to Sado Island. Approximately 100 people dressed in period clothing walk through town in an impressive procession.

Gion Kashiwazaki Festival
A festival featuring folk dance processions and traditional portable shrine parade floats. On the final day see a large scale fireworks display with 300 shakudama fireworks. The beautiful and powerful fireworks over the ocean are a sight worth seeing.

Enma-ichi Festival
Starting with the old horse fairs, from the Bunsei era onwards this street has been lined with outdoor stalls. For this festival, around 600 stalls fill the area around Enma-dou Temple, lining up for several kilometers.
